—OUR STORY
The Meaning Behind Sao
This practice carries the name Sao in honour of my late father. To enter Canada as a refugee, he took on his best friend's last name, pretending to be a member of their family. Years later, I helped him reclaim his birth surname, Sao, and when he passed away I made it my own.
Because his name won't continue through lineage, I wanted it to live on through the work I do as the founder. At Sao Therapy, we believe healing happens in community and is best seen through a holistic lens, because tending to the relationships in our lives can create profound change. Healing within ourselves is essential—and it can also become the catalyst that allows us to heal alongside the people we love.
—OUR MOTTO
Just Be
Just be is an invitation to stay present. When we loosen our grip on control and simply exist in the moment, we begin to see how much choice we truly hold. Real control was never about managing every detail to have the most favourable outcome—it's about reclaiming the power to choose which struggles you're willing to carry. Finding that autonomy gives us back a kind of power many of us forgot we had.
